He became a news sensation at that time because of his way of describing things.
Just after two months of this joyride incident, in June 2008, he again caught the media’s attention for beating his grandmother at Lake Park Wal-mart, just for not buying him some chicken wings.
This time he was taken into custody and after the inquiry, he was further moved to a mental evaluation.

These incidents inspired an American adult animated comedy series, ” The Boondocks” named, ‘Smoking with cigarettes’ in which the main character Lamilton Taeshawn was a preliminary copy of Latarian Milton. The episodes were based on the incidents that happened in Milton’s life. The episodes were related to the joyride and the statement he said that he wanted to smoke cigarettes and also beating his grandmother for not buying chicken wings. Lamilton Taeshawn is the main antagonist of the episode “Smoking’ with Cigarettes” in The Boondocks. He is a juvenile delinquent with a very destructive and malicious personality. Lamilton is a sociopath, who does whatever he wants (i.e stealing, driving his grandmother’s car, smoking, etc), without any regard for the law.

It was expected that everything would work out as he continued his secondary education and also joined the football team at school. Further, he chose to engineer and also joined the US navy. It was imagined that he would make his life better by his aspirations but he proved it all wrong.
In August 2017, he along with his friends booked a Lyft car and robbed the driver and pulled him out of the car, and drove away.
Later he was arrested for carjacking and robbery and as a punishment, he was sent to the juvenile detention center.
After several court cases, in 2019, he was imprisoned. Though he is waiting for the final verdict, it is looking like he may spend up to 15 years in jail.
