West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), founded in 1951, is an autonomous exam conducting organisation for West Bengal Class 10 examinations (Madhyamik Pariksha). WBBSE specifies the WB Madhyamik syllabus, the WB Madhyamik Routine, the WB board question papers, and the WB 10th result for West Bengal class 10 pupils. The West Bengal board is likely to hold the WB Madhyamik examinations 2023 in March 2023 for the current academic term 2022-23.
WBBSE – Overview
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education was established in 1951 as the state government’s autonomous examining authority for the West Bengal Standard 10 examination (or secondary school level test). The Board of Secondary Education was established under the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The first Chairman of the Board was Sri Apurba Kr. Chanda. Under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Act of 1963, the Board of Secondary Education was renamed The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1964.
The Board was established in January 1964, with Dr. J. C. Sengupta as Chairman. WBBSE is now led by Professor Dr.Kalyanmoy Ganguly as President and Sri Subrata Ghosh as Secretary.
The board began its journey in 1951, when it took over 1270 high schools from Calcutta University. By the end of 1963, the number had risen to 2312, and the Board now oversees around 11000 junior high and high schools. The number of applicants taking the secondary test has increased by leaps and bounds as the number of accredited schools has increased. The board handled 42000 students in its initial school leaving test in 1952, which has now skyrocketed to a staggering 10,66,000 in 2019. The Board’s efforts to support women’s education must not be neglected in this context. It is evident in the fact that the percentage of girl students enrolled in this year’s (2020) Madhyamik Examination was 56.70%, while the percentage of boy students was 43.30%.
Not only has the number of schools and pupils expanded rapidly over the years, but so has the scope of its operations. The board is no longer just an exam authority. WBBSE has recently undergone a thorough makeover in its essential function as a steersman in the realm of school education. Based on the purview of the RTE Act-2009 and the West Bengal Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2012, the Board has established some directives to improve the quality of education, as well as to ensure the discipline and time schedule of daily classes, and to ensure minimum learning outcomes as per RTE-2009 amendment.

Secondary Education Board is a website built by www.wbbsedata.com. The school principals can work on the website with their own information here.
The Board’s schools will upload the ninth grade number of secondary courses of secondary pupils from 11 a.m. to June 21. Students were requested to validate the number of students received based on their name and registration number during this data transfer. The number is told to be cautious throughout the upload. The schools must also be prepared to register the repair.
According to the board, there is no ambiguity in the number of submissions on the website with the register number. It is also instructed to the non-changing register number. However, this may pose issues when submitting the number in a short period of time, thus the instructor has requested to expand throughout the teacher. Teachers and educators, according to school officials, will cause complications as a result of the lockdown and school closure.
Higher Secondary Education Parliament, on the other hand, has made notices of this day and transmitted the number of XI in June 23. Schools will bring the number of elevenths to the regional office of Parliament. According to the guidelines, the number of yearly XI class testings is submitted far in advance. Parliament has previously said that the number of XI will be provided between March 12 and March 21. However, on this day, a list of two thousand adjacent schools was issued. These schools did not provide a hardcopy list of phone numbers. Following the filing of the Enrollment Form in Parliament in March, the number of projects and practical test numbers were submitted.
His actions have also been scrutinised. After all of these actions, the parliament has been questioned as to why it was silent.
